Data Entry Guidelines

Making data entry consistent can be among the hardest tasks when establishing a new database, particularly when entries are crowdsourced from volunteers or built with a large team over time. However, consistent, clear and unambiguous data entry is vital for computational analysis, which opens up cultural datasets to a wide range of new possibilities. As part of our thinking through the enhancement of Australian cultural data in the future, we have put together some simple suggestions that we hope will be of value to those working with cultural data. ACD-Engine Data Sharing and Authorship Policy

In consultation with our CIs and Advisory Board, the ACD-Engine developed our own bespoke data sharing and authorship policy, which governs how data are gathered, formatted, supplemented, analysed and published within our research partnership. It includes flowcharts around determining appropriate authorship for both datasets and publications, and mapping a pathway for the inclusion of authors and collaborators from the team through the development of a research paper or digital output.
